The Organising Committee of the Vogalonga worked with the Associazione Fotografica Marco Polo to bring you pictures of the 39th Vogalonga (May 19 2013) from the Venetian lagoon.

L’Associazione Fotografica Marco Polo was trusted with documenting the 39th Vogalonga in a photographic reportage featuring the most characteristic and noteworthy moments of the event. More than 20 young amateur photographers helped to capture curiosities and real highlights of the event. Their work includes not only photographs of the course and training and preparation but also those which tell of the teams’journeys from far afield to the event; the excitement and festivities in the boat yards; the rowing clubs and the canals of Venice – before, during and after the race. This is what the Vogalonga is all about.

The best shots will then be selected and put on show in a special exhibition, organised and promoted by the Vogalonga Committee together with the Associazione Fotografica Marco Polo. This association was created  with the aim of bringing together photography enthusiasts and promoting the art of photography through events, exhibitions, meetings and specific schemes to enhance photographic communication.
